Profile
He is a DJ/SOUND PRODUCER who primarily thrives in the realms of HIP HOP and R&B, making waves not only in Tokyo but across Japan and Europe. He was the first to embody and popularize the “ECLECTIC” style, which dominates the dance scene in Amsterdam, within Japan. Emphasizing a hands-on approach, he journeyed to the United States multiple times, accumulating experiences and nurturing an artistic MIX sense. With numerous tours spanning America, Asia, and Europe, he is beloved by party-goers all around the world and stands as a representative figure in Japan’s club scene.
Career Highlights
- He began his DJ career in 1997.
- In 1998, at the age of 19, he was selected as a tour DJ for the nationwide tour event of the culture magazine “Fine,” marking the start of his nationwide activities.
- From 2006 to 2009, he streamed LIVE MIX sessions every week on INTERFM (76.1MHz).
- He released MIX CDs and compilation albums from major labels and gained extensive coverage in music magazines.
- He ventured into music production and established “YAMATOBEATS,” providing tracks, artist production, and releasing remixes.
- He founded the DJ production “ZIPANGSTAR.”
- He achieved remarkable success in Japan, performing at major events like the country’s largest hip-hop festival “SPRING-ROOVE,” “ULTRA JAPAN,” a large-scale electronic music festival, and brand events for Adidas, among others.
International
- Since 2010, his European tours have garnered much praise from local DJs, and he has also performed at “ADE,” Amsterdam’s biggest dance music festival.
- In 2013, he became the only Japanese official DJ for the largest record pool on the West Coast of the United States, “CLUBKILLERS,” playing a significant role in the Asian region as well.
